Legacy Museum of Texas City and La Marque Schools

Texas City ISD is proud to announce the creation of the Legacy Museum of Texas City and La Marque Schools—a tribute to the proud traditions, stories and memories of two remarkable school districts that have come together as one.

This museum will serve as a space to honor the history of both Texas City ISD and La Marque ISD, preserving the people, moments and milestones that helped shape generations of students and families. It’s a project fueled by community pride and the desire to ensure that the legacies of TCISD and LMISD live on for years to come.

The Legacy Museum will be housed in the building currently used for the district’s pre-kindergarten program. Once the new Calvin Vincent Early Childhood Center opens next school year, this facility will be repurposed to accommodate both district offices and the museum. We are excited about this opportunity to breathe new life into an existing building and transform it into a space that welcomes our community and displays our shared history.

To make this vision a reality, we need your help. We’re asking community members to consider donating items that represent the history and pride of both school districts—class photos, letter jackets, cheer megaphones, uniforms, trophies, yearbooks, graduation announcements, Homecoming mums, spirit ribbons and other memorabilia. We know many people hold onto sentimental treasures, and while it may be hard to part with them, we would love to give them a new home where they can be appreciated by others for generations to come.

In the weeks ahead, we’ll be sharing details on how to donate items. The museum will eventually have designated days when it is open to the public and may also open on additional days with advance notice for class reunions or special events.

We’re also looking for volunteers to help with organizing displays, welcoming guests and assisting visitors once the museum opens. This will be a true community effort, and we hope many of you will join us in bringing it to life.

The Legacy Museum of Texas City and La Marque Schools is more than just a building—it’s a celebration of our shared story. It’s about pride in where we’ve come from and hope for where we’re going.
