Welcome to Heights Elementary Music! I am Kirstie Guillotte. The 2019-2020 school year is my third year at Heights Elementary, but my seventh year in TCISD. I am currently the TMEA Region 17 Elementary Music Chair, and a member of TMEA.

I love teaching music to the elementary students! In music class students will learn music theory, how to sing, will have an opportunity to play instruments, and learn songs to perform in a program.

Kindergarten will perform for their Kindergarten Graduation Ceremony in May, First Grade will perform during Texas Public Schools Week in March, Second Grade will perform during Black History Month in February, Third Grade will perform for Veteran's Day in November, and Fourth Grade will perform during the Holiday Season in December. .

At Heights Elementary we believe that:

  • our students should have a basic knowledge, skills and appreciation of the fine arts.
  • a quality fine arts education program will enable students to develop self-esteem, self-discipline, self motivation and cooperation necessary for success in life.

Veterans Day Program - November 7, 2019 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM

"Quaver Philosophy

Quaver brings Seriously Fun Teaching and Learning to the music classroom

SERIOUS because our teaching resources are academically sound and address grade-appropriate concepts that meet state and national standards.

But the Quaver approach to music education is not only serious, it’s also FUN! Teachers enjoy teaching with Quaver resources and their students are motivated to learn, which benefits students beyond the classroom walls."

A BIG Thank you goes out to Mr. Randy Dietel for funding our Quaver to Classroom Grant! With this grant we will be able to purchase class tablets to be used by the students. Students will be given a username and a password to Quaver Music so they can explore the Music World of Quaver and discover the FUN in music.
