College & Career Readiness

Texas City High School aims to prepare students for college and careers. Our College & Career counselor, is pleased to help students determine what they need to do to prepare for life outside of TCHS.

College Timelines

Students and parents may feel overwhelmed at beginning to prepare for college. The best plan is to start as early as possible. Below are timelines for preparing for college sorted by grade level:

Scholarship Information

Texas City High School has a number of scholarship applications that are provided for students throughout the year. These scholarship applications are from local groups as well as national groups. Students can visit the Scholarships page for more information or stop by the Counseling Suite for more information.

College of the Mainland has a representative on the TCHS Campus on Tuesdays and Friday. He is available to assist all students at TCHS with information about COM as well as other colleges and universities and to prepare students for their college/career experience.

College Visits

Junior and Senior students are allowed to have 2 college visits during Junior year and 2 college visits during Senior year. All college visits require a two-week prior approval from their Assistant Principal and verification from the college or university.
