We understand that you are eager to know what education is going to look like in Texas City ISD for the 2020-2021 school year. Our campus and central office administrators have been working through various scenarios that would allow us to meet both the educational needs and health needs of our students and staff while also meeting requirements mandated by the Texas Education Agency. Planning for the 2020-2021 school year has been one of our most challenging tasks to date but we are committed and working hard daily. Texas City ISD is getting closer to publicly announcing what those plans entail but we still need to hear back from many parents. This is a reminder to our parents and staff to fill out the surveys that were emailed to you this week. Your input is critical and valuable. Thank you for being patient with us as we examine all the possibilities.

There are still so many unknowns regarding the pandemic and what that means for how we deliver instruction but Texas City ISD will push forward with planning for a variety of scenarios so that we are ready whatever comes our way. We have approved an instructional calendar beginning Aug. 12th. If we are able to, we'd like to get back face-to-face with our students to make sure that they are truly grasping those concepts that they need to know to be successful for the 2020-2021 school year. Basically in August we would be reviewing and re-teaching essential critical elements. Then new content will begin after Labor Day. For those classes that don't really require pre-requisites, the curriculum will be adapted and new concepts will begin immediately. Download a printable version from the Calendar page.

The administrative staff has made a decision cancel PROM for Texas City High School that was previously scheduled for July 18th.

Due to the ratio of students to teachers currently recommended by the CDC and the Texas Education Agency, we don't feel confident we would be able to ensure the safety of our students as well as our staff
