Texas City High School has earned a prestigious distinction for the first time in school history, being named a 2026 Naval Honor School for its outstanding Marine Corps JROTC program.

The Naval Honor School designation is reserved for the top 20 percent of Marine Corps JROTC programs and recognizes units that demonstrate excellence across their programs, including cadet achievement, leadership, service, participation and overall program performance.

The historic recognition reflects the commitment of TCHS cadets as well as the leadership of Marine Corps JROTC instructors Sergeant Major Ramon Nash and Gunnery Sergeant Travis Daniels.

“This recognition does not happen by accident,” Region 4 Director Christine Ramos shared in announcing the honor. “It is the result of dedicated instructors, motivated cadets, strong school leadership and an administration that continues to support the program and its mission.”

Ramos also recognized TCHS Principal Lincoln Hypolite for his support of the program and credited school leadership with helping create an environment where instructors and cadets can succeed.

Earning Naval Honor School status represents an important milestone for the TCHS Marine Corps JROTC program and provides another example of the leadership, service and opportunities being developed for students at Texas City High School.
