October is National Bullying Prevention Month. 🧡

Every student deserves to feel safe, respected and included. At Texas City ISD, we can all help by choosing kindness, including others and speaking up when someone needs support.

If you experience or witness bullying, reach out to a teacher, counselor or trusted adult. Asking for help is an important step, and you don’t have to handle it alone.

Together, we can build school communities where every student feels they belong.

October is Learning Disabilities Awareness Month, which is a time to build understanding and celebrate the strengths, talents and contributions of students with learning disabilities.

Every student deserves to feel valued, included and supported. By listening, recognizing individual needs and providing meaningful support, we can help students access learning, build confidence and pursue their goals.

At Texas City ISD, we’re grateful for the educators and families who work together to create welcoming classrooms where every student belongs. 🧡💙

💇‍♀️✂️ La Marque High School Cosmetology and Barbering students got a behind-the-scenes look at the professional salon industry during a visit to Farouk Systems today.

Students experienced firsthand what goes into creating many of the products and tools used every day in salons. They saw how bottles are manufactured, learned about the chemical processes behind styling products and watched assembly lines in action as products were packaged and labeled.

The visit also gave students a closer look at Farouk’s commitment to quality and safety, including products and tools that are not tested on animals, as well as the educational resources the company provides to beauty professionals.

Experiences like this take learning beyond the classroom and salon, helping students see the science, manufacturing, innovation and career opportunities that are all part of this industry.

What an eye-opening day for our future professionals! 💈🧴🔬

🌟 Heights Elementary has been named a National Bright Spot! 🌟

Heights Elementary keeps producing results, and people beyond Texas City ISD are taking notice!

Heights has been named a National Bright Spot by The 74 for beating the odds in third-grade literacy. 📚👏

The national nonprofit education newsroom analyzed nearly 42,000 schools across the country to identify schools where third-grade reading performance significantly exceeded expectations based on student poverty levels.

✨ Bright Spots represent the top 5% of schools in their state for outperforming those expectations.

That’s something worth celebrating!

This recognition reflects what happens when high expectations meet great teaching, hardworking students and a school community committed to helping every child succeed.

Congratulations to Principal Sarah Furman, our third-grade teachers, students and the entire Heights Elementary team! Your hard work is producing results, and we are incredibly proud! 🎉
