TCISD has been closely monitoring the weather and consulting with weather experts. At this time, we are not expecting severe weather beyond normal rainfall, and school will operate on a normal schedule on Sept. 1.

We will continue monitoring conditions overnight. If anything changes, we will communicate with families through ParentSquare, the district website and social media.

🎖️ HISTORY MADE AT TCHS! 🇺🇸

For the first time in school history, Texas City High School has been named a 2026 Naval Honor School! This prestigious distinction is reserved for the top 20% of Marine Corps JROTC programs!

This national-level recognition reflects excellence throughout the TCHS Marine Corps JROTC program and the leadership, service, achievement and commitment demonstrated by our cadets throughout the year.

👏 Congratulations to our outstanding cadets and to Sergeant Major Ramon Nash and Gunnery Sergeant Travis Daniels, whose leadership and dedication continue to create incredible opportunities for our students.

We are also grateful for the support of TCHS Principal Lincoln Hypolite and the school and district leaders who champion this program and its mission.

This is more than an award. It is a historic milestone for TCHS and a tremendous source of pride for our entire community.

Top 20%. First time. Naval Honor School. Way to make history! 🎖️⭐

🎉 We’ve been celebrating some exciting accomplishments across TCISD!

Each afternoon, we’ve visited our six campuses that earned an A or B in the 2026 TEA Accountability Ratings to recognize the teachers, staff and leaders whose hard work made it possible for our students to achieve.

⭐ Calvin Vincent Early Childhood Center — A
⭐ Heights Elementary — A
⭐ Guajardo Elementary — B
⭐ Roosevelt-Wilson Elementary — B
⭐ La Marque High School — B
⭐ Texas City High School — B

Behind every rating are students working hard, teachers committed to their success and staff members supporting them every step of the way. We’re proud to celebrate the people behind these achievements!

Take a look at some of the smiles from this week’s celebrations! 🎉👏

🎓 A big milestone for Early College High School in TCISD!

Now in its fourth year, our Early College High School program is reaching an exciting first: seniors from La Marque High School and Texas City High School are taking classes on the College of the Mainland campus during the school day this year.

Even more exciting, 37 seniors from our two high schools are on track to earn their associate degree while completing their high school diploma!

These students are experiencing college firsthand, earning valuable credits and getting a head start on their future, all before they walk across the stage at high school graduation.

We are proud of how far this program has come and even more proud of the students who are making the most of this incredible opportunity! 🎓📚

🤝 Building skills through teamwork!

Third grade dual language students in Mrs. Ruiz’s class put their teamwork and problem-solving skills to the test with the Saving Sam challenge! 🐛

Students worked together to communicate, collaborate and think critically as they found a way to successfully complete the activity. Hands-on learning experiences like this help students build skills they can carry with them both in and beyond the classroom.

Mrs. Ruiz said her students absolutely loved the teambuilding activity, and we can see why! ❤️
